Emergency Department (ED) Coordinator

Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center has an immediate opening for a FT ED Coordinator. This role will function as an integral part of the Emergency Department Team and will work under the license of the Medical Director. This position will be supervised by the ED Nurse on duty. Candidates must hold an EMT-B, EMT-B-IV, EMT-I or Paramedic certification.
This position is a Night Shift from 8pm-8am.
The responsibilities of the ED Coordinator will include but will not be limited to:
Greeting and assisting patients/families/visitors as they arrive.
Receiving direction from physicians and nurses to provide optimized patient care.
Obtaining and documenting patient vital signs, monitoring systems, updating patient records, and reporting findings as appropriate to supervisors or other staff.
Performing resuscitation/CPR and emergency airway procedures as needed.
Transporting patients to other departments as needed.
Changing linens and cleaning surrounding areas as required.
Registering, scheduling, stocking and ordering supplies as needed.
Performing clinical and other administrative duties as assigned.
Candidates must maintain current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
High school diploma or GED required.
Candidates must hold an EMT-B, EMT-B-IV, EMT-I or Paramedic certification.
Must have at least 6 months of experience performing administrative duties in patient care areas.
Must have basic knowledge of health, hygiene, sanitation, infection control, safety, and sterilization. techniques relevant to providing exceptional patient care in an ER setting.
Previous experience with healthcare related software and computer equipment required.
Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate.
Must be able to wear PPE as needed.
Ability to type at least 60 words per minute preferred.
Must be a good verbal communicator.
Must be able to effectively multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
This position will require long periods of standing and walking. The ability to see and hear is required. Candidates who apply must be able to push, pull, reach, kneel, climb and bend. This is a FT hourly/non-exempt.
Holidays will be required.
