Registered Medical Assistant/Community Health Worker

As a health resource, SPRHC offers a Patient centered Medical home within a Family Clinic, Outreach and Women's Clinic, Specialty Clinic, Surgical Team, Critical Access Hospital, Swing Beds, Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, Laboratory, Imaging Department and Spanish Peaks Five Star Veterans Community Living Center.
Community Health Worker: 60%
The Outreach Clinic of Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a full-time employee for a grant-funded position to work as a Community Health Worker. Applicant should have some medical experience (CNA/RMA), experience with social service agencies, excellent verbal communication skills, basics computer skills, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, knowledge of community needs and resources, prior involvement in community, willingness to work flexible hours (some nights/weekends) and ability to maintain client/patient confidentiality. Additional qualifications, a plus, having lived in community or at least the past 18 months, bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required, experience working with disadvantaged population and knowledge of community medical and lifestyle programs and services.
Medical Assistant/Receptionist: 40%
Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program and/or 2 years-experience is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and good computer skills is a must as we are now on a fully electronic medical record system. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. Successful candidate will work closely with providers and patients in a fast paced environment. The specialty clinic has an obligation to many of the Specialty Doctors to provide a receptionist.
